What we do
Most of our looms are working on hand-knotted pile at any one time — that is the core of the house. Alongside it we weave high-low pile for texture and shadow, flat weaves and kilims for lighter rooms, and we take on oversized pieces where a space needs one rug rather than several.

The family begins trading rugs in Afghanistan — buying, sorting and selling by hand, and learning wool, dye and knot directly from the weavers who made them. Everything the company knows about quality starts here.
The family establishes its own factory in Pakistan, moving from trading other people’s rugs to making its own. Owning production means controlling the wool, the dye lots and the knot count rather than hoping for them.
The family moves to the United States and expands the business there, putting sales and service in the same market as the buyers while production stays on the family’s own looms.
Olker Rugs branches off as its own house, built to give the trade a white-glove service: full specification, sizing made to order, and one point of contact from first sample through to installation.
