What we do

Most of our looms are working on hand-knotted pile at any one time — that is the core of the house. Alongside it we weave high-low pile for texture and shadow, flat weaves and kilims for lighter rooms, and we take on oversized pieces where a space needs one rug rather than several.

At Olker Rugs we look for the quiet irregularities only a hand-made piece carries — the small shifts in colour and knot that tell you a person made it

Looms, dyeing and finishing

Hand-knotting looms, warped in-house and set to the size of each rug
Dyeing, in small lots matched by hand so colour holds true across a run
Carving and clipping, pile levelled and detail cut by hand after weaving
Washing and drying, every rug washed and dried before final inspection
